After loosing my job last year I decided to go back to college. My wife and I both signed up for classes at Tesst College of Technology located at Towson, MD. I’m 54 years old. I’ll be 55 October 3rd. My wife is 25, she will be 26 the 17th of this month. My wife and I have carried a 4.0 average since we started, both of us are on the President’s List. Originally we were given the Pell Grant, then Financial Aid said I made too much money last year. Now I have to pay back an additional 20K in student loans. That was a low blow since I’ve been collecting Unemployment since November of 2009.
I’ve been very diligent about my job search. I know I’ve sent out several hundred resumes. I have a fair education, I went to a Technical School and I have a College Degree. I have a little over 30 years Computer Experience. I do not have my Certifications needed to land a job in the Computer field. The primary reason I decided to go back to college was to get my A+, Net+, and Security+ Certifications. While attending college an internship for People’s Community Health Center became available. I have main frame programming experience. I’ve also been designing Web sites for around 15 years. HTML and CSS is very easy for me. Now I’m learning C# using Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2010 Express. You can learn along with me. Below was my first week’s assignment:

I’m curious if you could possibly figure out exactly what the midterm elections may possibly imply pertaining to free college scholarships. It feels the Republicans are going to look to cut anything they could cut which probably means awards for education. Simply put i don’t understand exactly how they feel this nation is ever going to be competitive, if the actual price of higher education continues to go up, but grants end up being more difficult to obtain. It is scary to consider I will be in debt $40,000 or higher and not knowing when I can possibly have a job opportunity after I graduate in this tight economy.
