At one time I made a full time income online. I was foolishly using a shared hosting account for the domains that were actually generating 1,000′s of dollars for me a month. I was one of the top sellers on ClickBank. But that came to an end when Hackers hacked into my hosting services and did so much damage that it put my hosting company out of business. I had a backup of everything on my main PC. The same day my hosting company was attacked my main PC caught a virus that wiped out the HardDrive. I don’t belive it was a coincidence. I have since updated and restored my domians, but I lost all of my members-subscribers and their email addresses. I am slowly generating cash online. I am an affiliate of several of the best paying affiliate sites online. Even though I lost my domains for a while I was still able to promote the affiliate programs I belonged to.

One Step Forward 2 Steps Back

Sometimes thru no fault of you own life will just kick you in the nuts. Then kick you in the head when your bent over. I made a goal to double my income every 6 months. Shortly after I made that goal I lost my primary source of income. I am not discouraged. I figure when one door shuts another one opens. Sometimes you may have to kick one open, but what ever works. I’ve been in the Computer Field since 1980. When I entered the field you only needed your degree or a certificate from a technical school. Now in order to do a job I already know how to do I have to pay for tests to get my Certs. I am 54 years old and back in College. I must admit the courses are great and I am learning a great deal. Soon I will be testing for my A+ and my Net+ Certs. After those I will get my Server+, MCSE+, and CCNA+. Basically I can do most of the things involved with trouble shooting a PC or rebuilding one but, I don’t have the Certs. I’m changing all of that. When I was learning about computers everything was hands on now there are LabSims. Lab Simulations are easy to understand. With LabSims you can go from a PC user to a PC tech in a little bit of no time. Since this section of my blog is about Goals, I’ve had to adjust my goals. My goals are now to get the above certs within the next 2 years or sooner. I will also be generating additional cash flows. I’ll make a different post about what actually works for me making money online.
My Tech instructor at college is 29 years old. I had an older son. I must admit my instructor has taught me a few things I didn’t know. The class I’m in is only 4 students. The second week we built a PC from scratch and installed the Windows 7 Operating System. If we have done that in two weeks imagin what we’ll be doing by graduation. Even though my financial situation has taken a step backwards I adjusted my situation to move forward financially. You cannot sit on your butt when something goes wrong you have to take responsibilty for yourself (No One Else Is Going TO) and move ahead. When life knocks you on your ass you have to get up and dust yourself off and move forward. I’m looking for a real job in the Baltimore, Maryland if anyone has a lead…

Obstacles

I’ve come to realize that the only obstacle between myself and my goals is me. I must take charge and accept every area of my life and my environment. Even the uncontrollable events. This is true responsibliliy. Now I do not focus on any obstacle only the goal. In this way I am in a better mind set to accomplish my goals. The closer I get to accomplishing my goals the faster the obstacles fall away. If your preparing to build a bridge you may discover by the time you get to the river it will be dry. Then you can walk accross. You have to focus on your Goals not imaginary or real obstacles. When an uncontrollable event occures you must look for the way it can benefit you. A true winner can take a bad situation and turn it to his/her advantage. A Diamond become a Diamond by pressure. So the pressures in life can be a great thing in your pathway of success………..

Some Goals for 2010

The best thing for me to do is write out my goals for 2010. This way they become more solid in my consciousness. I will be using Positive Affirmations more this year but, as of now my primary Goals are:

1) Earn over $250,000 this Year.
2) Spend More Quality Time with my Wife.

3) Travel More, we are in the USA, my wife is Filipina (Philippines).

4) Regular Exercise (I use to be a competitive Bodybuilder).

5) Create at least 2 more additional sources of income this year.

6) Move into a Beautiful Home.

7) Read more and Expand my Library.

8 ) Get more Focused on my Goals.

9) Get more and more organized.

10) Create more MasterMind Groups..

11) Create more JV Partnerships..

12) Set Bigger and Better Goals..

13) Communicate Better..

14) Write a Book..

This is just a few of the gaols I have written down. I change my goals has life changes but, I am always improving myself and doing what I can to help others. I will also set apart more time to make regular post to this blog. I stay so busy I literally have to make time to post here.

Motivation

The most important aspect of setting goals or accomplishing anything is MOTIVATION. If your a sales person and your not motivated, you are not going to make alot of sales. On the other hand if your motivated you’ll make alot of sales. The question then is, how do we stay motivated and what steps can we take to ensure success if we are not motivated? By setting smaller goals along the way it’s easier to stay motivated when your seeing results. I personally have long-range goals which I am constantly adjusting as I get closer to accomplishing my goal. I create short-range goals that are like steps up a latter to my long-range goals. When you are not motivated you have to make what ever task that needs to be done a Habit. It generally takes about 30 days for our actions to become habits. Creating and maintaining good habits are essential to successfully accomplishing goals. By making the essential tasks habits it’s easier to stay motivated to accomplish your goal.
