Stop Being a Consumer- Be a Producer
We live in a world where we consume massive information every day. From scrolling through
our Instagram page to watching Netflix, we are constantly bombarded with information.
Whether it is a product or a service, the number of people who consume has gone up in the
last decade or so. There is absolutely nothing wrong with consuming a product, but the world
needs more producers. People who contribute to every industry- engineers, doctors,
entrepreneurs, and so forth. Contributing to your community doesn’t need to take hours
every week or days every year. We can serve our community by simply volunteering at a food
shelf or mentoring students throughout the summer. For example, I mentor ten to fifteen
students every summer by encouraging them to read two to three books every week. We all
have the skills and abilities to contribute to the world. Every day, we have the choice to make
the world a better place. How are you contributing to the society? Are you a consumer or a producer?
